Clifford Chance promotes María Sabau to the firm's partnership in Spain

Leading international law firm Clifford Chance has today announced the promotion of María Sabau to Partner from 1 May 2024.

With more than 17 years of experience, María Sabau is a member of the firm's Global Financial Markets practice. She focuses her practice on infrastructure finance and leveraged finance, advising a wide range of banking sector clients as well as financial investors and participating in a large number of national and international transactions for both lenders and borrowers/sponsors. María has spent her entire career at the firm since 2007. She holds a degree in Law and Business Administration from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas ICADE (Spain) and has studied at the École Supérieure de Commerce de Rouen (France).

Key statistics:

Gender: 38% (11) promoted partners were female. The rolling average over five years is 38%. The firm has a target of at least 40% female and at least 40% male global partners in the firm by 2030.
Ethnicity: 20% of the 15 new US and UK partners who have disclosed ethnicity identified as under-represented minority ethnic partners[1]. This exceeds the firm's target of 15% of new partners by 2025 for the third year running.
At 1 May 2024, the Clifford Chance global partnership will comprise 661 partners. This compares to 623 partners on 1 May 2023.

La firma global de abogados Clifford Chance anuncia hoy la promoción a la categoría de socia de María Sabau a partir del 1 de mayo de 2024.

Con más de 17 años de experiencia, María Sabau es miembro del área de Global Financial Markets de la firma. Centra su práctica en la financiación de infraestructuras y financiación de adquisiciones, asesorando a una amplia variedad de clientes del sector bancario, así como a inversores financieros y participando en un gran número de transacciones nacionales e internacionales tanto para financiadores como para acreditadas. María ha desarrollado íntegramente su carrera en la firma desde 2007. Es licenciada en Derecho y en Administración y Dirección de Empresas (E-3) por la Universidad Pontificia de Comillas ICADE (España) y cuenta con estudios en la École Supérieure de Commerce de Rouen (Francia).
