Clifford Chance advises ArcTern Ventures on its investment to Woltair

Clifford Chance in Prague has advised ArcTern Ventures on EUR 16.3m in Series A funding round to Woltair s.r.o., a Czech online platform that helps consumers to choose and install a solution that replaces traditional energy sources with modern and clean ones.

The investment was led by ArcTern Ventures and included Westly Group and Aternus, and the existing investors such as Poland’s Movens Capital, Kaya VC, and Inven.

Woltair has developed a platform that allows choosing the best RES solution for households, such as photovoltaic panels, heat pumps, and energy storage, and then connects consumers with installation and maintenance specialists. They entered the Polish market at the beginning of this year, and they are planning to enter Germany and Italy by the end of the year.

ArcTern Ventures is a venture capital firm with a head office in Toronto, Canada and branches in Oslo, Norway and San Fransisco. The fund invests globally in highly scalable companies that can significantly help solving climate change and sustainability, especially within renewable energy, circular economy, resource efficiency, food and agriculture, and industrial decarbonization.

The transaction team was led by M&A Counsel Michal Jašek who was primarily assisted by Associate Tomáš Procházka. The team further consist of Tax Counsel Petr Šebesta and Junior Lawyers Martin Hrachovina, Anna Vrbíková and Leontina Svatošová.
