Clifford Chance is advising CDB Aviation on the delivery of four A320neo aircraft to Aeroflot

The Clifford Chance team is advising CDB Aviation on the delivery of four A320neo Family aircraft to Aeroflot, Russia’s largest airline group which globally ranks among the top 20 by passenger numbers.

CDB Aviation, a wholly owned Irish subsidiary of China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co., Limited (“CDB Leasing”), announced on 17 May 2021, that the company delivered the first of the four aircraft. The remaining three deliveries will include two additional A320neos and one A321neo, and will be received by the carrier later in May.

The long-term lease agreement between CDB Leasing and Aeroflot will support the Russian carrier's strategic efforts to retrench its leading position in key markets on the domestic network, while enhancing its fleet with the latest technology single-aisle aircraft offering higher capacity and improved fuel-efficiency.

The Clifford Chance team advising on the deal was led by the Moscow office managing partner and head of the banking & finance practice Victoria Bortkevicha, counsel and co-head of Russian asset finance group Vadim Turtsev, and associate Dmitry Elkin.
