Clifford Chance advises on launch of RTX21 digital property investment platform

International law firm Clifford Chance has advised Proptech company RTX21 on legal and tax aspects of the development and launch of an innovative real estate investment platform.

RTX21 is a digital one-stop-shop platform for the real estate industry, connecting global investors with local real estate operators on a single investment basis. The aim is to make all workflows in the real estate sector transparent, efficient and cost-saving by digitizing the value chain. RTX21 will be a BaFin regulated company and provide the necessary legal certainty for investors.

With RTX21, investors will be able to acquire token-based participation rights in the form of security tokens issued on the Ethereum Blockchain, and invest in real estate property and project developments. RTX21 offers a new and easy-to-use platform for the real estate sector as the world largest asset class.

A property in Offenbach has already been securitized in this way in a closed institutional investor group.

Special feature of the approach from a legal perspective is a greatly simplified transaction process without the need for statutory central custody and clearing. Trading takes place in real time and without any notary, brokerage or other transaction fees. This makes commitments in the German real estate market even more interesting, especially for international investors.

Founders behind RTX21 are long-standing real estate investor David Ziper (DZ Invest Family Office) as well as experienced investment bankers Kay Hofmann (ACXIT Real Estate) and Johannes H. Lucas (ACXIT Capital Partners).
