Clifford Chance advises Quantum and Mastern on acquisition of Amazon sortation-center in Berlin

International law firm Clifford Chance has advised Hamburg-based Quantum Group on the acquisition of the Amazon sortation-center in Berlin-Schönefeld on behalf of two funds managed by Mastern Investment Management, a leading Korean real estate asset manager. The funds are backed by Korean institutional investors. Quantum has structured and completed the transaction for Mastern.

The recently completed logistics center is located on a 120,000 sqm plot of the 36 ha LOG Park area and offers a total of 35,000 sqm of lettable space. Amazon has signed a long-term lease agreement for the sortation-center. Quantum will also serve as asset manager for the property.

The Clifford Chance team advising Quantum and Mastern on the acquisition, financing and structuring of this recent transaction comprised partner Gerold Jaeger, senior associate Philip Heinzel, associate Walid Hamid Saden and transaction lawyer Tina Lukić (all Real Estate, Düsseldorf), partner Olaf Mertgen, associate Steffen Waadt (both Frankfurt) and counsel Cord von Mandelsloh (Düsseldorf, all Tax), partner Christian Vogel, associates Niklas Zientek and Marie-Christine Schulte (all Corporate, Düsseldorf), partner Tobias Schulten, senior associate Melissa Jayne Staunton, associate Gregor Zymek and legal support assistant Cornelia Lambert (all Banking & Capital Markets, Frankfurt) as well as associates Nolan Groenland and Robin Houtveen (both Tax) and senior associate Arwin Lok (Corporate) from Clifford Chance's Amsterdam office.
