Clifford Chance raises EUR 67,860 for charity at its Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich offices
Clifford Chance has raised a total of EUR 67,860 for social causes as part of its annual Germany-wide Christmas fundraising campaign. The firm's staff donated EUR 33,930 and the partnership doubled the donation.
The Clifford Chance office in Dusseldorf gave EUR 30,300 to the "gutenachtbus" (good night bus). This is a project by "vision:teilen" and "fiftyfifty" offering support to the homeless and those in need at night-time. Throughout the year, staff on the bus provide blankets, soup and a sympathetic ear.
In Munich, staff from Clifford Chance contributed EUR 3,960 to the association LichtBlick Seniorenhilfe e.V. which fights poverty among the elderly by providing assistance and advice. Part of its job is to offer ongoing financial support – as a fast, personal service without the red tape.
The Frankfurt office donated EUR 33,600 to the "Klückskinder" initiative. This organisation supports foster children and children in care with the aim of improving their educational opportunities and giving them the chance of a better future. With this in mind, "Klückskinder" has developed various support modules to encourage children and young people, create opportunities for them and provide additional assistance.
Dr. Kerstin Kopp, Clifford Chance's pro bono and responsible business partner in Germany, said: "I am delighted that our staff have decided to support the work of local charitable causes once again. By donating this generous amount we can continue to help people in various difficult situations."
As a "responsible business", Clifford Chance assumes social responsibility worldwide. The firm supports the humanitarian aid organisation Afghanischer Frauenverein e.V., the Frankfurt-based Crespo Foundation with its "SABA" educational scholarship programme which was awarded the integration prize by the City of Frankfurt am Main in 2018, as well as the project "Düsseldorf setzt ein Zeichen" (Dusseldorf sets an example) organised by the Dusseldorf citizens' foundation, among others. Die internationale Anwaltssozietät Clifford Chance hat im Rahmen ihrer alljährlich stattfindenden deutschlandweiten Weihnachtsspendenaktion insgesamt 67.860 Euro für soziale Einrichtungen gesammelt. 33.930 Euro brachten die Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter der Sozietät auf; die Partnerschaft verdoppelte diese Spendensumme.
Das Clifford Chance-Büro in Düsseldorf unterstützt mit 30.300 Euro den "gutenachtbus". Die Initiative von "vision:teilen" und "fiftyfifty" bietet Obdachlosen und Armen nachts Hilfe. So versorgt der Bus sie ganzjährig mit Decken, Suppe und einer Gelegenheit zum Gespräch.
In München helfen die Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter von Clifford Chance dem Verein LichtBlick Seniorenhilfe e.V. mit 3.960 Euro. Als Fürsprecher und Helfer für Betroffene macht sich der Verein gegen Altersarmut stark. Teil der Arbeit ist eine dauerhafte finanzielle Unterstützung – schnell, unbürokratisch und persönlich.
Mit 33.600 Euro fördert das Frankfurter Büro "Klückskinder". Die Organisation unterstützt Heim- und Pflegekinder, um ihre Bildungschancen zu erhöhen und gesellschaftliche Teilhabe zu ermöglichen. Dafür hat "Klückskinder" verschiedene Bausteine entwickelt, um den Kindern und Jugendlichen Mut zu machen, Perspektiven zu eröffnen und Unterstützung zu bieten.
