Clifford Chance advises international banking consortium on € 1.5 billion refinancing of Offshore-Windpark Merkur
The international law firm Clifford Chance has advised a consortium consisting of international and national private and public sector financial institutions including KfW IPEX-Bank on the refinancing for the construction and operation of the offshore wind park "Merkur" in the North Sea with a volume of about € 1.5 billion.
The Merkur offshore wind park located 45 kilometres north of Borkum is currently under construction and scheduled to be finished in 2019. With 66 wind turbines produced by General Electric, it will have a capacity of up to 396 megawatts, equivalent to the electricity requirements of around 500,000 private households.
The wind park is owned by a consortium of the infrastructure investors Partners Group and InfraRed Capital Partners, DEME Group and General Electric and ADEME, the French environment and energy management agency.

Die internationale Anwaltssozietät Clifford Chance hat ein Konsortium bestehend aus internationalen und nationalen privaten und öffentlich-rechtlichen Kreditinstituten, darunter die KfW IPEX-Bank, bei der Umfinanzierung mit einem Volumen von rund €1,5 Milliarden für Bau und Betrieb des Offshore-Windparks "Merkur" in der Nordsee rechtlich beraten.
Der aktuell in Bau befindliche Merkur-Windpark 45 Kilometer nördlich von Borkum soll 2019 fertig sein und mit 66 Windenergieanlagen von General Electric bis zu 396 Megawatt Kapazität liefern, so viel wie der Strombedarf von rund 500.000 Privathaushalten.
Eigentümer des Windparks ist ein Konsortium aus den Infrastrukturinvestoren Partners Group und InfraRed Capital Partners, der DEME Group und General Electric sowie ADEME, der staatlichen französischen Umwelt- und Energiebehörde.
