Clifford Chance advises Kerogen Capital on its investment in Ideol SA
Kerogen Capital ("Kerogen") has announced it has entered into binding agreements to invest in Ideol SA ("Ideol"), a global leader in the floating offshore wind industry. Kerogen will be the lead investor in Ideol’s €15 million equity funding round and will become Ideol’s largest shareholder.
Founded in 2010 and based in France, Ideol has developed an industry-leading and internationally recognised offshore floating foundation which promises to become one of the key commercial solutions in the rapidly developing floating offshore wind industry.
The fundraising will further advance Ideol’s growth and expansion into key international markets. Kerogen will be joining the board and will partner with Ideol to help internationalise its business.
The Clifford Chance team that advised Kerogen on this transaction was led by Laurent Schoenstein, partner, with the support of Emmanuel Mimin and Frédérique Fontaine, counsel, as well as Marie-Aude Kfouri, associate.

Kerogen Capital ("Kerogen") a annoncé avoir conclu un accord afin d'investir dans Ideol SA ("Ideol"), l'un des leaders mondiaux en matière d’éolien en mer flottant. Kerogen sera l'investisseur principal dans le cadre du nouveau tour de table de 15 millions d'euros mené par Ideol, et deviendra ainsi le principal actionnaire de la société.
Créée en 2010 et basée en France, Ideol a développé une fondation flottante reconnue internationalement et ayant vocation à rapidement devenir la solution de référence sur un marché en rapide croissance.
Cette levée de fonds sécurisera les besoins en financement d’Ideol et lui permettra de poursuivre son expansion sur les marchés internationaux clés. Les représentants de Kerogen rejoindront le conseil d’administration et soutiendront les efforts de croissance d’Ideol grâce à leur connaissance fine du secteur international de l’énergie.
