Leadership News from Clifford Chance

Clifford Chance has today announced that David DiBari and Connie Heng have joined the firm's global leadership team and that Chris Davies has been reappointed as the Global Head of the firm's Tax, Pensions and Employment practice for a second term.

David is the Regional Practice Area Leader for Litigation & Dispute Resolution in the Americas and Connie is the Regional Practice Area Leader for Capital Markets in Asia Pacific. Effective from 1 March 2018, David and Connie will sit on Clifford Chance's Wider Leadership Group that includes the heads of the firm's global practice areas, as well as the members of the firm's Executive Leadership Group, Clifford Chance's top strategic decision-making body.

Matthew Layton, Clifford Chance Managing Partner explains, "We have an ambitious vision and strategy for the firm. Our rapidly growing capabilities in the Americas and in Asia Pacific are critical to those ambitions, and fundamental to our leading global client offering. By adding David and Connie to the team, our strategic decision-making will benefit from their extensive market and cultural insights into the unique opportunities and challenges of their regions. A diversity of voices and perspectives only strengthens the firm, and that is equally true at a leadership level. I very much look forward to collaborating with them over the coming years."

The WLG undertakes two formal reviews of the firm's strategy each year. David and Connie will join these meetings, as well as other particularly relevant ELG sessions, including those held in their respective regions. They will each serve a term of two years.

Chris Davies specialises in the taxation of corporate and financing transactions with a particular emphasis on structured finance and international taxation; he also leads the London TPE group.

Matthew Layton says, "The firm's proficiency across the full spectrum of international and domestic tax issues, employment, incentives and pensions underpins our work for many of the world's leading businesses. Under Chris's stewardship, the practice is going from strength to strength and I am delighted that Chris will continue in his role for the next four years."
