Clifford Chance advises on debut institutional fund for Griffis Residential
Clifford Chance advised Griffis Residential on its first institutional capital raise, Griffis Premium Apartment Fund IV, which raised $407 million and closed on September 1, 2017. Griffis Residential’s new multifamily fund beat its target by more than $100 million.
“The successful launch of this debut institutional fund demonstrates our ability to advise first-time institutional sponsors, as well as established fund managers," said Clifford Chance private funds partner Roger Singer, who led a cross-practice team of US colleagues. "We were pleased to represent Griffis Residential on this important offering, which expanded its investor base beyond high-net-worth investors and family offices for the first time, winning commitments from a major college endowment, a large insurance company, a number of consultants and other advisors."
Also advising on the fund offering were Clifford Chance partners Jeff Berman (Regulatory) and Rich Catalano (Tax), and associates Thien Folkemer and Andrew Nelson (Private Funds), Ashwini Habbu (Regulatory) and Lauren Clarke (Tax).
