Evan Cohen appointed to second term as Clifford Chance's regional managing partner for the Americas region
Clifford Chance today announced that Evan J. Cohen has been appointed to a second four-year term as the Firm's regional managing partner in the Americas, effective May 1, 2017.
During the past four years, under Cohen's leadership, the Firm has achieved its best-ever performance in the US and Latin America, driven by a strategy that focuses on further developing practices where the Firm already has strong, competitive positions in the region.
"Our strategy for the Americas is key to our long-term success. Under Evan, the region has gone from strength to strength," said Matthew Layton, Clifford Chance managing partner. "Evan's appointment to a second term reflects the partnership's confidence in his leadership and ability to continue building practices in the Americas that enhance our domestic and global offerings."
Clifford Chance's Americas strategy has led to notable performances, including in top-ranked practices such as Asset Finance, REITs and Project Finance, where the firm finished No. 1 in both volume and value in the 2015 Latin America league tables. Cohen has also helped to recruit a number of strategic lateral hires, including several former federal prosecutors who have bolstered its highly-regarded US global investigations team.
Cohen received his JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and his BS, magna cum laude, from the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania. He is based in New York and belongs to the American Bar Association and the American College of Investment Counsel. He is a member of the Board of Directors of City Year New York and My Sisters' Place.
