Clifford Chance strengthens employment offering with appointment of Anita Lam

Leading international law firm Clifford Chance today announced the addition of Anita Lam to its Litigation and Disputes Resolution team who will commence at the firm on 15 May 2017 as consultant and head of the firm's Hong Kong employment practice. Anita practices across all areas of employment law, with a particular focus on contentious employment, discrimination and data privacy disputes. As a seasoned litigator, Anita is one of the very few solicitors in Hong Kong who has Higher Rights of Audience granted by the Higher Rights Assessment Board.

Her extensive experience spans across a variety of sectors including financial services, transport & logistics, education, consumer goods, healthcare, and energy. This announcement follows the recent lateral appointment of partner Angela Pearsall in Sydney and the promotion of international arbitration specialist Sam Luttrell to partner in Perth this month.

Partner Brian Gilchrist offered, "Anita's extensive background perfectly complements our team as our clients require increasingly sophisticated counsel on matters, now often including local employment elements. Having worked on some of the most significant and high-profile cases in Hong Kong across a number of sectors, Anita's appointment will not only allow us to provide the best advice to our clients, but also build on our excellent record in complex litigation and employment related issues."

Head of Litigation & Dispute Resolution for Clifford Chance in Asia Pacific Nish Shetty said, "We are delighted to welcome Anita to the team. Anita provides further depth to our already rich pool of talent across Asia Pacific. She will not only be working with our team, but providing support to our clients in finance, capital markets and corporate."

It offers clients deep experience covering all major dispute resolution disciplines including banking litigation, international arbitration, regulatory investigations, anti-corruption, sanctions, employment, intellectual property and tax, with coverage and expertise across a range of sectors.
