Clifford Chance promotes two new counsel in the Middle East

Clifford Chance has today announced that it has promoted Daniel Royle and Shauaib Mirza to Counsel. The promotions take effect 1 May 2016.

Daniel Royle is an established leading lawyer in the firm's Corporate practice in Riyadh. Daniel works closely with Saudi Corporate Co-Heads, Omar Rashid and Khalid Al-Abdulkareem – Riyadh Office Managing Partner. Daniel has advised on number of high profile transactions in Saudi Arabia, including Al-Tayyar's landmark investment in Thaker, Amanat Healthcare on its investment in Sukoon, Abdullah Fouad on the acquisition of oil and gas assets from the Shoaibi Group and Al Jomaih on the acquisition of the International Refreshment Company from Pepsico.

Shauaib Mirza is a senior member of the Islamic Finance practice. Based in Dubai, Shauaib supports Global Head of Islamic Finance, Qudeer Latif, in the expansion of the practice across jurisdictions and different product areas. Shauaib has advised on the US$913 million pre-funded ECGD backed sukuk issuance by Emirates, the US$1.5 billion dual tranche sukuk issuance by the Government of Malaysia, and on Amlak's AED$10 billion restructuring which included the world's first Shari'a compliant convertible contingent instrument.
