Clifford Chance advises Union Investment on the purchase of the "Innside by Meliá Aachen" hotel

Clifford Chance has advised Union Investment on the sale of a hotel property of the Spanish "Meliá" hotel chain on behalf of its owner, the DIFA-Fonds Nr. 3 real estate fund. The developer and vendor of the "Innside by Meliá Aachen" is HPG Hotel Aachen GmbH & Co. KG. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

The new hotel, which is due for completion in mid-2016, is fully leased to Sol Meliá Deutschland GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Meliá Hotels International.

The new building is centrally located near Aachen's shopping district and tourist sites. The 4-star hotel will have 158 rooms, 66 parking spaces, a conference suite and a restaurant and roof-terrace bar.

Union Investment's hotel portfolio also includes three of the Spanish chain's other flagship hotels in Berlin, Düsseldorf and Paris.

The Clifford Chance team was led by partner Thomas Reischauer and comprised counsel Dr. Kristina Jaeger (both Frankfurt), associate Agnieszka Pikul (Munich) and senior transaction lawyer Katrin Rötering (Düsseldorf) – all Real Estate.
