Clifford Chance advises on final sale in Abertis Infraestructuras airport portfolio
International law firm Clifford Chance has advised long-standing client Abertis Infraestructuras, the Spanish infrastructure group, on the disposal of Desarrollo de Concesiones Aeroportuarias (DCA) for $190m to Mexican airport group Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico. DCA owns a 75% stake in the operator of Montego Bay Airport, Jamaica and a 15% stake in the operator of Santiago de Chile Airport.
The transaction concludes the divestment of Abertis's airports business, which started in 2013 with the sale of Cardiff and Belfast International airports and Stockholm Skavsta, as well as the Orlando Sanford (Florida, USA) airport terminal concessions and TBI’s airport management business in the USA. In November 2013, Abertis sold its stake in Luton airport and in December 2014 its stake in Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico. Clifford Chance advised Abertis on all of these matters.
The Clifford Chance team was led by partner Joel Ziff with support from senior associate Alex Franks.
