Clifford Chance Co-global Head of the International Arbitration practice Audley Sheppard appointed Queen’s Counsel
Clifford Chance LLP is delighted to announce that Audley Sheppard, co-global Head of the International Arbitration practice, has been appointed Queen’s Counsel.
The award of Queen's Counsel is made to advocates who have rights of audience in the higher courts of England and Wales and have demonstrated excellence in both written and oral advocacy before the higher courts, arbitrations and tribunals and equivalent bodies. A similar honour makes a lawyer 'Senior Counsel' in British commonwealth countries.
Audley has been a partner at Clifford Chance since 1995 and has over 25 years’ experience in the resolution of disputes arising out of major infrastructure and energy projects and international trade and investments, as counsel, arbitrator and academic. He is one of five solicitors who will officially take silk on 16 February 2015.
Global Head of Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Jeremy Sandelson, said:
"Audley's appointment is a great honour for him and the firm. He is a terrific member of our market-leading arbitration practice which continues to be recognised for its high quality client-service internationally. His appointment not only reflects the success of his career, but also that of our firm in advising clients who are facing complex international disputes."
