Clifford Chance advises Crespo Foundation pro bono on its "Baby Guards Frankfurt" project
Clifford Chance is advising Crespo Foundation, Frankfurt am Main, in the context of a pro bono matter introducing "Baby Guards Frankfurt", a project involving Frankfurt's maternity clinics.
About 11,000 children are born in Frankfurt every year. Experience from other cities shows that roughly one third of the families with newborns are in need of additional information and support. However, families who would need a more comprehensive support before and after the birth of their child do not usually look for advice themselves. This applies in particular to families with additional burdens or particularly stressful environments.
The Baby Guards are professionally trained to notice such problems at the earliest possible stage and help parents to find suitable support and assistance. For this purpose, a central data base will be set-up listing all contacts and centres or programs available in Frankfurt. It is planned for the Baby Guards to commence work at the hospitals "Klinikum Höchst" and "Bürgerhospital" in September 2014. In the mid-term, Baby Guards shall be present in all of Frankfurt's maternity clinics.
"Baby Guards Frankfurt" is a project initiated by Crespo Foundation, Polytechnic Foundation and the city of Frankfurt. The project will be operated by the German Association for the Protection of Children (Kinderschutzbund), district Frankfurt am Main. It will be carried out in cooperation with Klinikum Frankfurt Höchst GmbH and Bürgerhospital Frankfurt am Main as well as the foundation "Familienorientierte Nachsorge Hamburg SeeYou":

Die internationale Anwaltssozietät Clifford Chance berät die Frankfurter Crespo Foundation im Rahmen eines Pro-Bono-Mandats bei der Einführung des Projekts "Babylotse Frankfurt" an Frankfurter Geburtskliniken.
In Frankfurt am Main werden jedes Jahr rund 11.000 Kinder geboren. Erfahrungen aus anderen Städten zeigen, dass bei etwa einem Drittel der Familien mit Neugeborenen weiterer Informations- und Unterstützungsbedarf besteht. Familien, die eine intensivere Unterstützung rund um die Geburt eines Kindes benötigen, finden allerdings häufig nicht von sich aus den Weg in die Beratungsstellen. Dies gilt insbesondere für Familien, die ausgeprägten Belastungssituationen ausgesetzt sind.
Die Babylotsen, spezifisch geschultes Fachpersonal, sollen solche Probleme frühzeitig erkennen und den Eltern bei der Suche nach passenden Unterstützungsangeboten helfen. Zu diesem Zweck wird eine zentrale Datenbank eingerichtet, die alle bereits vorhandenen Angebote in der Stadt Frankfurt am Main auflistet. Die Babylotsen werden voraussichtlich ab September 2014 zunächst am Klinikum Höchst und am Bürgerhospital tätig sein. Mittelfristig sollen Babylotsen an allen Frankfurter Geburtskliniken eingesetzt werden.
"Babylotse Frankfurt" ist ein Projekt der Crespo Foundation, der Stiftung Polytechnische Gesellschaft und der Stadt Frankfurt am Main. Operativer Träger des Projekts ist der Deutsche Kinderschutzbund, Bezirksverband Frankfurt am Main e.V. Das Projekt wird durchgeführt in Zusammenarbeit mit der Klinikum Frankfurt Höchst GmbH und dem Bürgerhospital Frankfurt am Main sowie der Stiftung Familienorientierte Nachsorge Hamburg SeeYou.
