Singapore: Leading international law firm Clifford Chance has received a renewal of its Qualified Foreign Law Practice (QFLP) licence from the Singapore Government. The licence renewal is valid for five years to April 2019.
Clifford Chance was one of six law firms to receive Singapore's first QFLP licences issued in 2008.
"We are delighted to have had our QFLP licence renewed. South East Asia is a key region for our clients and our Singapore-based team play an important role in the growth of our firm in Asia Pacific and globally. We look forward to the next phase of development for our practice in the Republic," said David Childs, Clifford Chance's Global Managing Partner.
Singapore Managing Partner Geraint Hughes added, "Over the past five years, we have seen Singapore strengthen its status as a global legal hub, not least through the breadth and quality of service available to clients based in Singapore and South East Asia. Through our high quality Singaporean and international team members, we are pleased to have played our part in the success of the development of the sector."
"We look forward to continuing to develop our strong practice and delivering the highest standards of legal advice and client service. There are exciting opportunities ahead for our practice and the profession in Singapore in the next five years, including through the implementation of key initiatives such as the Singapore International Commercial Court."
