Clifford Chance's Mark Shipman named to Securities and Futures Commission Advisory Committee

Hong Kong: Leading international law firm Clifford Chance is pleased to confirm that Partner Mark Shipman, Global Head of Funds and Investment Management, has been appointed to the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC)'s Advisory Committee for a two year term, effective 1 June 2013.

"It is an honour to have been named as a member of the SFC's Advisory Committee,"said Mark. "The Committee serves a very important function and I look forward to contributing my first-hand knowledge of the policy and regulatory issues that face the financial markets to further strengthen the Commission's role in fostering an orderly securities and futures markets."

The Advisory Committee is made up of twelve appointed members and the Chairman, the Chief Executive Officer and an Executive Director of the SFC. This year, six new members were appointed and six were re-appointed.

The Committee was established under section 7 of the Securities and Futures Ordinance to advise the SFC on policy matters regarding its regulatory objectives and functions.
