Craig Medwick elected Clifford Chance's Corporate leader for the Americas

NEW YORK (March 4, 2013) — Leading international law firm Clifford Chance today announced that Craig Medwick has been elected to lead the Americas Corporate practice by his fellow Corporate partners in the region. In addition to performing his new role, Medwick will finish out his second and final term as Americas Regional Managing Partner (RMP), which runs through April 30 of this year. As previously announced, Americas Banking & Finance head Evan Cohen will assume the Americas RMP role on May 1.

In his new Corporate role, Medwick succeeds co-heads John Healy and Brian Hoffmann, who have just finished their second terms.

"I want to thank John and Brian for their efforts in helping us build our Corporate practice in the Americas," said Medwick. "The 2012 league tables had our Americas M&A team ranked No. 12 for value – up from No. 26 the previous year – and we've also added a number of lateral partners to the group during the past year. I'm excited about returning to the Corporate practice where I began my career, helping to grow it, and working more closely with my Corporate colleagues in the region and across the Clifford Chance network."

A graduate of New York University School of Law, Medwick has been a Clifford Chance partner since 1987. His practice encompasses a broad range of corporate and securities transactions, including funds formation, real estate securities, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and corporate governance. Before assuming the role of Regional Managing Partner in 2007, he led the formation of Clifford Chance's US Private Funds team, which last year was named best in North American by Private Equity Real Estate magazine.
