Clifford Chance appoints 27 new partners
Promotions reflect the breadth of the firm's expertise and international footprint
Leading international law firm Clifford Chance has today announced the election of 27 lawyers to its partnership. The new partners will play an important role in developing the firm's business in Asia Pacific, the Americas, Europe and the Middle East and bring wide-ranging experience across key sectors and practices.
More than a third of this year's promotions are in key growth economies. This includes five new partners to support the firm's strategic focus on the Middle East, working across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia (in conjunction with Al Jadaan and Partners). The firm is also doubling the size of the partnership in its booming São Paolo office, with two promotions. In Asia Pacific there are three new partners, who join the 27 partners added across that region since 1 May 2011.
David Childs, Clifford Chance Managing Partner comments, "This year's promotions demonstrate how we continue to invest across the firm, ensuring we have the right breadth and depth of capability to meet evolving client needs. As a result, this year we have a strong spread of new partners across critical markets in the West as well as in those regions experiencing high levels of growth. Becoming a partner at Clifford Chance is highly competitive. These new partners combine excellent legal skills with strong commercial nous and have proven themselves to be valuable contributors to the wider life of the firm through enhancing our knowledge, developing our people and supporting our pro bono work. I am delighted to welcome them to the partnership and look forward to working with them all."
The promotions will take effect from 1 May 2012 and will bring the total number of partners in the firm to 593.
