Clifford Chance advises on Project HOLM – House of Logistics & Mobility
Clifford Chance advised House of Logistics & Mobility (HOLM) GmbH, a company owned by the Federal State of Hesse and the City of Frankfurt am Main, on the European tender procedure for the planning, construction and financing services required for the development of the House of Logistics & Mobility (HOLM). HOLM is a cooperation between higher education institutions, business and the public-sector and will offer users the choice of various project offices, areas for research, teaching and start-ups, as well as conference and seminar rooms. The interdisciplinary research centre, which will cover up to 19,800 m² will be built at the confluence of key transport routes at Frankfurt Airport, at the northern end of the "Gateway Gardens".
The chosen investor will lease the multipurpose complex to HOLM GmbH for a period of 30 years from its completion in 2013. HOLM GmbH will then lease individual areas to higher education establishments and companies. It is hoped that this will create around 500 new jobs, primarily for international academics.

Die internationale Anwaltssozietät Clifford Chance hat die House of Logistics & Mobility (HOLM) GmbH, eine Tochtergesellschaft des Landes Hessen und der Stadt Frankfurt am Main, bei der europaweiten Ausschreibung von Planungs-, Bau- und Finanzierungsleistungen zur Errichtung der Immobilie House of Logistics & Mobility (HOLM) beraten. Das HOLM ist ein Kooperationsmodell zwischen Hochschulen, Wirtschaft und öffentlicher Hand und bietet seinen zukünftigen Nutzern zahlreiche Projektbüros, weitere Räumlichkeiten für Forschung, Lehre und Start-up-Unternehmen sowie Konferenz- und Seminarsäle. Das interdisziplinäre Forschungszentrum mit einer Fläche von bis zu 19.800 Quadratmetern entsteht an der Schnittstelle wichtiger Verkehrswege am Flughafen Frankfurt am Main, am nördlichen Ende der so genannten "Gateway Gardens".
Der beauftragte Investor wird den multifunktionalen Gebäudekomplex nach seiner Fertigstellung im Jahr 2013 für die Dauer von 30 Jahren an die HOLM GmbH vermieten. Diese wird die einzelnen Flächen an die jeweiligen Hochschulen und Unternehmen untervermieten. Rund 500 neue Arbeitsplätze, vornehmlich für internationale Wissenschaftler, sollen entstehen.
