Clifford Chance advises Metroinvest on the acquisition a property located in Hamburg's HafenCity
Clifford Chance advised Spanish investment company Metroinvest, Barcelona, on the acquisition of a newly built building located in HafenCity, Brooktorkai 22, Hamburg (Germany). The purchase price amounts to EUR 22 million.
The building was designed by Italian star architect Antonio Citterio and offers approx. 5,700 sqm of office and retail space. Next-door neighbours are the headquarters of Der Spiegel and Germanischer Lloyd.
Metroinvest, a fund of the Metrópolis Grupo, has specialised in property investments in office real estate in large European cities.
The Clifford Chance team was lead by partner Cornelia Thaler, and included counsel Dr. Gerold M. Jaeger, associate Holger Pollmann (Real Estate, Frankfurt), senior associate Barbara Rybka (Real Estate, Munich) as well as partner Thorsten Sauerhering and associate Dr. Dominik Engl (both Tax, Frankfurt).
Clifford Chance had already advised Metroinvest on the acquisition of the office property PEC – Port Event Center ("Wolkenbügel") in Düsseldorf's so-called "Medienhafen" – their first investment on the German market and on the acquisition of the real property "Alstertor 9", also located in Hamburg.

Die internationale Anwaltssozietät Clifford Chance hat die spanische Fondsgesellschaft Metroinvest, Barcelona, beim Erwerb einer neu erbauten Hamburger Immobilie in der HafenCity, Brooktorkai 22, beraten. Der Kaufpreis beträgt 22 Millionen Euro.
Das von dem italienischen Stararchitekten Antonio Citterio entworfene Gebäude umfasst rund 5.700 Quadratmeter Büro- und Handelsfläche. Direkt benachbart sind die Verlagszentrale der Spiegel-Gruppe und die Firmenzentrale des Germanischen Lloyd.
Metroinvest, ein Fonds der Grupo Metrópolis, hat sich auf Investments in Büroimmobilien in Europäischen Großstädten spezialisiert.
