Clifford Chance advises main shareholders of PT Indonesia Infrastructure Finance on capital and business alliance with SMBC
Leading international law firm Clifford Chance has advised Asian Development Bank (ADB), DEG - Deutsche Investitions- Und Entwicklungsgesellschaft MBH (DEG), International Finance Corporation (IFC) and PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) in their shareholding discussions with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) in connection with SMBC's signing of subscription and business alliance agreements with PT Indonesia Infrastructure Finance (IIF). The agreements are for SMBC to subscribe to approximately 14.9% of the total issued shares of IIF and for both parties to engage in a business alliance.
Singapore partner Ting Ting Tan who led the deal said, "I'm very pleased to have continued to act for the existing shareholders on this significant milestone for IIF, having acted for ADB, DEG and IFC in the original establishment of IIF, which was the first infrastructure finance company to be established under the Indonesian Minister of Finance Regulation No. 100 of 2009."
IIF focuses on finance in infrastructure sectors such as electricity, toll roads, water management and water supply, port and telecommunication infrastructure. IIF will also focus on an advisory business which promotes public private partnerships projects and increases the number of commercially viable and bankable infrastructure project streams in Indonesia.
