Clifford Chance advises Santander on the sale of its stake in Thames Water to the China Investment Corporation
Leading international law firm Clifford Chance announces it has advised long standing client Santander on the sale of its stake in Thames Water to the China Investment Corporation (CIC).
Thames Water is the largest water company in the UK and is owned by a consortium of investors lead led by Australian investment bank Macquarie. The deal comes at a time when Chinese investors are being encouraged to invest in British infrastructure by British politicians.
The deal involved teams in Madrid and London, lead by partners José María Fernández-Daza and David Pudge, assisted by associates Luis Alonso, Didac Severino, Melissa Fogarty and Daniel Royle.
