Clifford Chance advises on US$500 million Premium London Listing of Polymetal

Clifford Chance has advised  joint global co-ordinators Deutsche Bank, HSBC, Morgan Stanley and joint bookrunner VTB Capital on the US$500 million premium listing of Russian gold and silver miner Polymetal on the London Stock Exchange.

Polymetal, currently listed on the Moscow Stock Exchange has traded Global Depositary Receipts in London since 2007 and has a market capitalisation of approximately US$7 billion. It hopes to join the FTSE 100 index with the move.

Adrian Cartwright, co-head of the European Equity Capital Markets Practice and lead partner on this transaction, said:

"Following our work on the recent IPOs of NOMOS and Phosagro, Clifford Chance's involvement in yet another major Russian transaction is testament to the strength of our Russian ECM practice in London and Moscow, particularly in light of the current market conditions. It also demonstrates our significant mining and metals sector expertise, following the Glencore IPO that we advised on earlier this year."

The Clifford Chance team was led by Adrian Cartwright, US Securities partner John Connolly and Moscow partner Arthur Iliev.
