Coronavirus: the "legal circuit breaker" legislation in Singapore

The COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) Act 2020 (the Act), passed on 7 April 2020, provides temporary and targeted measures which are designed to mitigate the economic shock which COVID-19 has caused to firms and businesses in Singapore.
Characterised as a "legal circuit breaker", the Act is a novel and bold piece of legislation which provides a wide-ranging array of measures to address the needs of businesses suffering economic hardship caused by COVID-19.
