Major Changes to Singapore Capital Markets Regulatory Framework Implemented

The Securities and Futures (Amendment) Act 2017 (SF(A)A), passed by Parliament on 9 January 2017, introduces major changes to the Singapore capital markets regulatory framework. Most of the amendments in the SF(A)A are operative from 1 and 8 October 2018. Transitional provisions are in place to allow capital markets intermediaries time to comply with some of the changes.
