Since the UK referendum, the UK government has been regrouping, consulting, discussing and strategising and there are still many major decisions to be made about the future of trade with the EU and the rest of the world. These will have very real consequences for businesses operating in the UK. At a lively debate hosted by Clifford Chance, our experts, together with Professor Jim Rollo of the University of Sussex, a specialist in international trade, discussed how companies should prepare themselves for the changes that are to come. Professor Rollo, who is also an Associate Research Fellow at global think tank, Chatham House, says that is clear that there will be a cost to any new trade arrangements.
