SFC's attempt to obtain final freezing orders against offshore hedge fund's asset fails

On 21 June 2011, Hong Kong's High Court ruled that the Securities and Futures Commission cannot obtain final freezing orders against an off-shore asset management fund, alleged to have engaged in insider dealing, without the SFC first having obtained either a determination by a Market Misconduct tribunal or a criminal conviction. The SFC plans to appeal.
