Genevieve is a senior associate in the restructuring and insolvency team with extensive experience in complex corporate insolvency and restructuring situations, consensual works outs, recapitalisations and related private credit transactions.

Genevieve has advised on a wide variety of high profile, complex cross boarder restructurings and special situations across the Asia Pacific region.

She was selected as an INSOL Future Leader in 2023 and is admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong and Australia.

  • Advised Webuild S.p.A in relation to the restructure and acquisition of the Australian engineering and construction business of the Clough Group out of insolvency, being the largest successful trade-on and turnaround of a construction group through voluntary administration in Australia to date.
  • Advised an ad hoc group of bondholders, holding NY law-governed notes issued by Sritex, or its group members, in the US$1.8 billion restructuring of the Indonesian listed textile company, Sritex, by way of a via concurrent restructuring processes in Indonesia via a PKPU, Singapore and New York.
  • Advised the senior unsecured bank lenders, which have formed an unsecured working group, in the high-profile SG$3.5bn restructuring of the Hyflux group*
  • Acted for a bondholder holding a significant portion of bonds issued by the Pan Brothers group in the group restructuring exercise, conducted by way of Singapore’s first multi-creditor and complex pre-packaged scheme of arrangement. Pan Brothers is one of Indonesia’s largest listed garment and textile manufacturer.
  • Advised a Southeast Asian health and wellness company in connection with multiple rounds of complex cross-border financial restructurings to enable the business to recover after the impact of COVID-19.
  • Acted for a specialist restructuring, insolvency, and forensic accounting firm in their capacity as receivers appointed over a minority shareholding of a Singapore holding company of a leading Vietnam Pharmaceutical company.
  • Acted for a group of private equity and special situation funds on their investment in an ASX-listed mining company via the structuring and purchase of U.S.$225,000,000 senior secured notes.
  • Advised a syndicate of lenders on the US$330m restructuring of PT Royal Industries arising from PKPU proceedings in Indonesia*
  • Advised a Singapore holding company, ultimately owned by a Cayman fund, set up for the purposes of investing in infrastructure projects in Asia in connection with the first ever successful application to terminate a winding up application under section 186 of the Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act 2018 and in connection with risks and issues arising in connection with the acts of certain former directors of the company.
  • Advised a large international Lender in connection with their rights as a syndicated lenders under a US$ 3,500,000,000 facility and connected security package entered into with a Mauritian borrower which was an indirect subsidiary of an Indian multinational publicly-listed holding company which indirectly owned two additional Indian listed subsidiaries.
  • Advised an international bank in connection with its exposure to Universal Group Holdings Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of the Hin Leong Group*
  • Advised a syndicate of lenders in connection with the successful restructuring of a US$470m facility granted to a Singapore subsidiary of a large Indian conglomerate*
  • Advised Prosafe SE, a Norwegian listed company on its successful restructuring by way of a Singapore Schemes of Arrangement, parallel Norwegian reconstruction process and recognition procedures in various jurisdictions. Under the restructuring, Prosafe SE swapped US$1.1 billion of debt for 99% of Prosafe SE's equity, reinstate US$250 million of a billion-dollar credit facility and US$93 million of a separate smaller facility
  • Advised one of the world's leading digital trade finance network platform providers and its directors in connection with the risks, obligations and strategic considerations arising as a result of the solvency issues faced by the company and on the eventual sale of the business to a third-party purchaser.
