Clifford Chance advises EDF power solutions and Maple Power on BW Ideol Projects Company’s entry into the share capital of the Méditerranée Grand Large floating offshore wind farm
EDF power solutions and Maple Power have announced that BW Ideol Projects Company, a subsidiary of BW Ideol and ADEME Investissement dedicated to the development of floating offshore wind projects, has taken a minority equity stake in the company Eoliennes Méditerranée Grand Large, which is responsible for the development, construction and operation of the Méditerranée Grand Large floating offshore wind farm.
This 15% equity investment builds on several years of collaboration among the BW Ideol, EDF power solutions, and Maple Power teams in the study of floating foundations to respond to offshore wind tenders in France.
This transaction strengthens the capabilities of the Méditerranée Grand Large project, which will benefit from solid technological expertise for the development of the first commercial-scale floating wind project in the Mediterranean Sea. EDF power solutions and Maple Power will choose the floater technology before the start of the project's construction.

EDF power solutions et Maple Power ont annoncé l’entrée de BW Ideol Projects Company (BWIPC), filiale de BW Ideol et ADEME Investissement dédiée au développement de projets éoliens flottants, en tant qu’actionnaire minoritaire, au capital de la société Eoliennes Méditerranée Grand Large en charge du développement, de la construction et de l’exploitation du Parc éolien en mer flottant Méditerranée Grand Large.
Cette prise de participation à hauteur de 15 % s’inscrit dans la continuité d’une coopération de plusieurs années entre les équipes de BW Ideol, EDF power solutions et Maple Power sur l’étude de fondations flottantes pour répondre aux appels d’offres d’éolien en mer en France.
Cette opération permet de renforcer les capacités du projet Méditerranée Grand Large, qui pourra bénéficier d’une expertise technologique solide pour le développement du premier projet éolien flottant de taille commerciale en Méditerranée. EDF power solutions et Maple Power feront le choix de la technologie de flotteurs d’ici au lancement de la construction du projet.
