Clifford Chance grows US Antitrust practice with hire of counsel Lauren Rackow

Global law firm Clifford Chance expands its US Antitrust practice with the hire of counsel Lauren Rackow. Rackow, who starts today, has substantial experience advising on the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act (HSR Act) and will further strengthen the firm's capabilities helping companies and private equity firms navigate the complexities of merger control notification and review by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Antitrust Division of the US Department of Justice (DOJ).

Rackow's work on a wide range of antitrust matters includes advising and representing clients on mergers and acquisitions, complex antitrust litigation, government investigations, antitrust compliance and financing transactions that may have antitrust risk. Her experience spans numerous industries such as healthcare, airline, financial services, digital commerce, shipping logistics, and communications. She also has extensive practical experience in helping clients with CFIUS assessments.

Tim Cornell, the Head of the firm's US Antitrust practice says, "Lauren's deep knowledge of the HSR Act and the intricacies of merger control will further bolster our bench and client service offering. The complexities of the HSR Act are likely to be elevated by new regulations on the horizon, which will make merger control notification more difficult. Having Lauren on board is fantastic for us and our clients."

Rackow says, "Clifford Chance's reputable antitrust practice and its well-known work on cross-border transactions for the world's top private equity firms make this an exciting career move for me. I'm really looking forward to working with my new colleagues across the global network."

The firm's global Antitrust practice of more than 190 lawyers covers all the key hubs of Europe, Asia Pacific and the US. The team has vast government and private industry experience. In the US, this team includes Regional Managing Partner of the Americas Sharis Pozen, who served at the DOJ Antitrust Division and at the FTC, and partner Peter Mucchetti, who also worked at the DOJ Antitrust Division where he served as the Chief of its Healthcare and Consumer Products Section.
