Clifford Chance advises waste-to-energy company AVR in connection with the EUR 450 million acquisition of AEB

Clifford Chance has advised Rotterdam-based waste-to-energy company AVR-Afvalverwerking (AVR) in connection with the acquisition of a 100% equity stake in AEB Holding N.V. (AEB), the largest single location waste-to-energy facility in Europe, from the municipality of Amsterdam.

The sale of AEB is the result of a competitive sales process. With its vast experience in the Netherlands and excellent reputation in the area of sustainability and CO2 capture, AVR emerged as the most suitable buyer for AEB. 

The Clifford Chance team was led from Clifford Chance's London office by Alexandra Dimsdale-Gill and from Clifford Chance’s Amsterdam office by Nienke van Stekelenburgh and further consisted of Alex Holden and Ena Talic.
