Clifford Chance advises SMBC Aviation Capital on the delivery of two Airbus A350 aircraft to Aeroflot

The Clifford Chance team has advised SMBC Aviation Capital on the delivery under a sale and lease back structure of two Airbus A350 aircraft each equipped with two Rolls-Royce Model Trent XWB-84 engines to Aeroflot, Russia’s largest airline group which globally ranks among the top 20 by passenger numbers.

The aircraft were delivered on 28th and 29th June. Both aircraft and associated engines were delivered while located at the Airbus delivery centre Toulouse, France.

The delivery of these aircraft to Aeroflot represents a significant milestone for the business, being the first A350-900 aircraft delivered by SMBC AC to Aeroflot.

The Clifford Chance team advising on the deal was led by the Moscow office managing partner and head of the banking & finance practice Victoria Bortkevicha, counsel and co-head of Russian asset finance group Vadim Turtsev, and associate Dmitry Elkin.
