Clifford Chance advises ALTANA on its investment in Landa Digital Printing
Clifford Chance has advised ALTANA specialty chemical group on an equity financing agreement under which ALTANA will invest EUR 100 million (approximately US-Dollar 135 million) for a minority stake in Landa Digital Printing by way of a capital increase.
Worldwide operating ALTANA group, headquartered in Wesel, Germany, develops and produces high-quality, innovative products in the specialty chemicals business.
Both companies see the agreement not only as a financial investment, but also as a starting point for a long-term strategic partnership to bring digital printing solutions to the commercial, packaging and publishing markets. ALTANA's investment is due to be used for the final development stage of Nanography™ printing technology – a water-based digital printing process developed by Landa.

Die internationale Anwaltssozietät Clifford Chance hat den Spezialchemiekonzern ALTANA beim Erwerb von Minderheitsanteilen an Landa Digital Printing beraten. ALTANA investiert im Wege einer Kapitalerhöhung 100 Millionen Euro in die Digitaldrucksparte von Landa.
ALTANA ist eine weltweit tätige Unternehmensgruppe mit Sitz in Wesel am Niederrhein. Der Konzern entwickelt und produziert innovative Produkte im Bereich Spezialchemie.
Beide Unternehmen sehen den Schritt nicht nur als Finanzinvestment, sondern als Startpunkt für eine langfristige strategische Partnerschaft, um Lösungen für den Digitaldruck in den Verpackungs- und kommerziellen Druckmarkt einzuführen. Die von ALTANA eingebrachten finanziellen Mittel sollen für den letzten Entwicklungsschritt der NanographyTM-Technologie verwendet werden – ein von Landa entwickelter wasserbasierter Digitaldruckprozess.
