Geraint Hughes re-elected as Singapore Managing Partner
Current Managing Partner of Clifford Chance's Singapore office, Geraint Hughes, has been re-elected to the position for a second term to 30 April 2018.
"I would like to extend my congratulations to Geraint on his re-election. He has been instrumental in leading the firm's remarkable growth in Singapore and South East Asia," said Peter Charlton, Clifford Chance's Managing Partner for Asia Pacific.
"Over the past four years, Geraint has successfully guided the office and helped develop our QFLP practice. Under Geraint's leadership, we have achieved major milestones such as the recent successful renewal of our QFLP licence, the establishment of our Formal Law Alliance with Cavenagh Law in 2012, the formation of our association with Indonesian law firm Linda Widyati and Partners (LWP) in January of this year, as well as the development of a diverse and talented team who are focused on our clients and who are well connected with the legal and broader community in Singapore and South East Asia."
"Our team in Singapore now comprises over 70 lawyers and trainees, of whom more than half are Singaporean, working on a range of local, regional and global deals and disputes – across over 30 countries, this past year. We continue to see great opportunities for growth in this dynamic market for our clients and for ourselves, and look forward confidently with Geraint leading the team."
The Singapore office has won a number of accolades in recent years including the award of "Singapore Law Firm of the Year" for 2013 by Chambers Asia Pacific.
