Clifford Chance adds finance partner in Australia

Sydney: Leading international law firm Clifford Chance is adding a further partner to its finance practice in Australia.

Lending and leveraged finance partner Caroline Jury has relocated from the firm's London office, joining finance partner Scott Bache in its expanding Sydney office.

As one of the world’s pre-eminent finance law practices, Clifford Chance has rapidly expanded its Australian finance practice to service its clients' needs in high-end and complex cross-border financing, structured finance, project finance, restructuring and capital markets matters.

"Caroline has been a partner for 15 years and is a highly experienced member of Clifford Chance's leading international finance practice, with an excellent track record in international bank lending and leveraged finance, particularly acting for borrowers and sponsors," said Scott. "Her experience in this area saw her head the Clifford Chance team that led the drafting of the Loan Market Association's Intercreditor Agreement – the global standard for finance documentation."

"Caroline built our finance practice in Germany and has a proven track record of building a business and developing younger lawyers into partners, skills that will ensure the continued growth of our Australian finance practice," said Scott.

“Her experience with the latest developments and techniques in leveraged financing will undoubtedly be attractive to Australian sponsors and corporates who want their financing arrangements to be consistent with international standards,” said Scott.

With Caroline's relocation, and the recent appointment of Dave Poddar to the Sydney partnership, Clifford Chance will have 17 partners in Australia.
