Clifford Chance kicks off partnership with Nyenrode's Europe China Institute by hosting a Seminar on China's 12th Five Year Plan
Clifford Chance's Asia Pacific desk in Amsterdam teams up with the Europe China Institute of Nyenrode Business University. Through this cooperation, Clifford Chance will participate in education, thought leadership and networking events for corporations and other organisations active in China. Combining and sharing expertise and experience of the international law firm with that of the Institute will provide a top level knowledge resource and help organisations to be successful in implementing their China strategy. To mark the beginning of the cooperation, Clifford Chance will host a seminar on "China's 12th Five Year Plan – turning opportunities into reality" at the Nyenrode Business University on 11 June.
Rather than focussing on issues and difficulties, the seminar will provide valuable insight into the opportunities arising in or from China and what's in store for those willing to engage. Key note speaker is Stefan Doboczky, member of the Management Board of Royal DSM NV and CEO of DSM Sinochem Pharmaceuticals, the global joint venture between Royal DSM and China based Sinochem. DSM is one of the early movers with a clear and focused China strategy. Mr. Doboczky and other guest speakers will share their hands-on experience in turning opportunities into reality. Senior executives from large Dutch corporates have already signed up for the seminar.
Jeroen Koster, head of the Asia Pacific desk at Clifford Chance Amsterdam: "We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with the Europe China Institute. This cooperation will create an ideal combination of business expertise and research knowledge from which many organisations will benefit – both Chinese companies looking to invest in Europe, and Dutch and European companies hoping to gain or expand their presence in China. The seminar and subsequent events will convey a different message about China: focusing on success, opportunities and solutions, rather than why it is difficult... which is in line with how we normally do business."
Prof. dr. Haico Ebbers, Chairman of Nyenrode's Europe China Institute adds: "We are already one of the leading institutes in the field of EU-China economic and business relations, and joining forces with Clifford Chance will allow us to offer even greater opportunities for knowledge sharing and thought leadership and link theory with practice."
