Clifford Chance advised Lufthansa-owned catering company LSG Sky Chefs Deutschland GmbH on its split into twelve legally separate companies.
The LSG Sky Chefs Group is the world's largest provider of airline catering and in-flight solutions, employing workers in over 200 customer service centres in 49 countries around the world. Having hitherto conducted joint business operations at 13 locations in Germany, LSG Sky Chefs Deutschland GmbH has now been split into twelve individual companies. The key motive behind the organisational realignment was to give more emphasis to locations having their own operation management responsibilities, to strengthen the entrepreneurial scope of the individual locations, and offer an improved perspective for all parties involved. More than 6,000 employees will be affected.

Die internationale Anwaltssozietät Clifford Chance hat das Lufthansa-eigene Catering Unternehmen LSG Sky Chefs Deutschland GmbH bei der Aufspaltung in zwölf rechtlich selbstständige Gesellschaften beraten.
Die LSG Sky Chefs-Gruppe ist der weltweit größte Anbieter von Dienstleistungen rund um das Airline Catering und den Bordservice. In mehr als 200 Betrieben in 49 Ländern auf der ganzen Welt sorgen Mitarbeiter der LSG Sky Chefs-Gruppe für die Bordverpflegung von Fluggästen. Das bislang in der LSG Sky Chefs Deutschland GmbH zusammengefasste Geschäft an 13 deutschen Standorten wurde nun in zwölf operative Gesellschaften überführt. Wesentliche Motivation für die organisatorische Neuausrichtung war die Betonung der betrieblichen Eigenverantwortung, die Verbreiterung des unternehmerischen Handlungsspielraums an den Standorten und eine Stärkung der örtlichen Identität. Von der Aufspaltung waren mehr als 6.000 Mitarbeiter betroffen.
