On 4 March 2020, Advocate General Spuznar of the European Court of Justice delivered an Opinion in the Case C-61/19 confirming the CJEU's previous position on the strict requirements to be complied with in order to rely on consent as a lawful ground for the processing of personal data under the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation.
