UK ratifies Cape Town Convention with effective date of 1st November 2015

On 27th July 2015, the United Kingdom submitted its instruments of ratification of the Cape Town Convention and Aircraft Protocol to Unidroit, the official treaty depositary. In accordance with the treaty timetable, the Convention and Protocol will enter into force in the UK on 1st November 2015. The UK implementing regulations come into force on the same date, therefore the treaty (including the specific declarations made by the UK) will be effective as a matter of national law from such time.
