New Japanese Regulations on Central Clearing, Trade Information Storage and Reporting in relation to OTC Derivatives Transactions

In Japan, new regulations requiring the mandatory clearing and reporting of OTC derivatives become effective from 1 November 2012 (subject to limited transitional measures).  These new regulations may have some exterritorial effect. 

This briefing note provides a summary of the scope of the new regulations.
