China Launches National Security Review System for Foreign M&A

"Foreign investors considering M&A activities in China may soon be subject to a security review system in addition to the existing antitrust review mechanism.
With a view to protecting national security and preserving social and economic stability, the State Council has published a circular that subjects certain M&A transactions in certain industry sectors to a security review.
