Clifford Chance advises Astro on US$1.5 billion IPO

Leading international law firm Clifford Chance has advised Astro Malaysia Holdings (Astro) on its US$1.5 billion listing on Bursa Malaysia.

This is the third largest listing this year on the Malaysia Stock Exchange, and the seventh largest listing globally in 2012.

Astro is an integrated consumer media entertainment group with operations in Malaysia and south east Asia in four key business areas including pay-TV, radio, publications and digital media.

"We're delighted to have worked with Astro on its successful listing. The consumer market is a big growth area for south east Asia and investors are optimistic about the potential returns in this sector," said Crawford Brickley, Partner and Head of Asia Capital Markets at Clifford Chance.

Crawford was assisted by consultant Tom Kollar and associates Hosea Chang and Heesug Chung.
