Véronique De Hemmer Gudme

Véronique de Hemmer Gudme is Of Counsel and Head of Regulatory Affairs in the Paris office of Clifford Chance. Véronique has nearly 30 years of experience in financial regulations around private equity and fund formation. She specialises in all areas of Private Equity, Fund Structuring and Securities law, and deals with Asset Management Regulation for both Continental Europe and France. She actively participates in the work carried out in France and Europe relating to asset management regulation.

She joined Clifford Chance in 2015, after working as the Head of Regulatory Affairs at SJ Berwin, another international law firm.

Before joining SJ Berwin, Véronique assisted the industrial group Thyssen Elevators with its external growth transactions, and then joined the Financial Engineering subsidiary of Banque Populaire Group, Natixis Private Equity, as a Legal Manager. Véronique dealt with issues related to private equity transactions, fund formation and development of the legal and tax knowhow. In 2008, the French private equity association (France Invest) entrusted her with the management of legal and tax matters.

Véronique has been a lecturer at Paris Dauphine University since 2003. She is also a member of the France Invest legal committee. She is an avocat at the Paris Bar.
