Elías Soria specialises in all aspects of Spanish Civil and Commercial Law, including claims for unfair competition and corporate disputes. Elías also has experience in Public International Law and International Investment Law and has represented clients before the ICSID. Elías has worked across a wide range of industry sectors including consumer goods & retail, insurance, energy, infrastructure and real estate.
- Advising a Spanish multinational in the industrial engineering sector on investment arbitration under ICSID rules against the Republic of Peru for the disputes in relation to an agreement for the construction and maintenance of the drinking water distribution system in the city of Lima.
- Representing an infrastructure sector Spanish company in arbitration proceedings brought by our client against an engineering and infrastructure company, under ICC Rules. The dispute involves discrepancies arising from a mechanical assembly agreement signed by the parties in connection with a fertilisation plant located in Norway.
- Advising the government of a Latin American country in a claim seeking the annulment of a second partial award handed down in arbitration proceedings brought by two US oil companies for the alleged breach of a bilateral investment treaty signed by the governments of the United States of America and said Latin American country.
- Advising STEAG GmbH on an investment arbitration claim against the Kingdom of Spain under the Energy Charter Treaty for the loss of its investment in a solar thermal plant in Spain.
