M&A Tips & Tricks: Clifford Chance Prague hosts the first in a series of M&A Seminars

Clifford Chance's Prague office recently held the first in a series of expert seminars on M&A transactions from a legal perspective.

Part one, 'M&A Tips and Tricks, looked at Purchase Agreements under Czech and English law, focusing on a number of topics illustrating the difference between agreements under Czech and English law, in particular in terms of their negotiation, execution, warranties and indemnities, and legal recourse. The seminar featured a joint presentation given by Office Managing Partner Alex Cook and senior corporate associate Michal Jašek.

The subject matter proved very popular with the seminar drawing a diverse group of clients and market participants, with key representatives in attendance from investment firms, M&A advisors, banks, and energy groups. The presentation was followed by an informal networking reception.

The session kicked off a season of in-house client events scheduled for the first half of 2017 by the Prague office, with upcoming seminars focusing on compliance in the field of antitrust and data protection; amendments to the Czech Insolvency Act and new EU insolvency regulation; and current trends and practices in environmental law to follow over the coming weeks. Part 2 of the M&A series is scheduled for the autumn.
