Clifford Chance has been listed as the top law firm in the 2023 Financial Times and Statista Diversity Leaders List. The prestigious list considers companies operating across Europe to measure the quality of their leadership in the area of inclusion and diversity.

Clifford Chance was named 54th overall on the list, which features 850 of the more than 12,000 companies operating across Europe. The firm also came first in the entire 'Consulting and Accounting' category, which includes law firms. The list is compiled using a combination of qualitative and quantitative data including an analysis of inclusion policies and perceptions from employees.

Clifford Chance improved its overall ranking by over 100 places in the list this year after appearing 160th overall in the 2022 list.

Global Managing Partner, Charles Adams, said: "This is welcome recognition for the firm. We know that inclusion is both a core value and a business imperative that is key to our success. We will continue to strive to be leaders across the legal sector. I am especially delighted with the result of the index this year, as it is based on the voices of our people in the firm. The survey measures their perceptions of how we are doing."

Global Director of Inclusion Tiernan Brady said: "This result is a reflection of the commitment and activity of thousands of us working to deliver the culture we desire and deserve. Inclusion is something we do every day; it is how we treat each other and our clients. We know that our work delivering inclusion is a permanent campaign and there is much to do but today is a good day to celebrate our wins along the way."
