Clifford Chance has been named Global Law Firm of the Year at the Infrastructure Investor Awards for the fourth year running. The awards celebrate excellence in the infrastructure space, both globally and regionally across the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Middle East and Africa. Infrastructure Investor drew up four-strong shortlists for each category and invited their readers to vote on the entries they felt were most deserving of recognition.

The firm received this recognition for its work across the globe, including its involvement advising on some of the award winning deals including:

• European Energy Deal of the Year – advising Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board and KKR Infrastructure on the acquisition and financing of an 80% interest in Caruna Oy, the largest electricity distribution network in Finland
• Middle East and Africa Deal of the Year and Middle East and Africa Energy Deal of the Year – advising the lenders on financing of EIG-led consortium’s US$12.4 billion acquisition of stake in Aramco Oil Pipelines Company; and
• Middle East and Africa Renewables Deal of the Year – advising the lenders to Masdar, EDF and Nesma consortium in connection with the REPDO 2 solar project in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
